Journal Impact Factor

The impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the "average article" in a journal has been cited in a particular year or period.  Journal Impact Factor is now produced from Journal Citation Report (JCR), a product of Thomson ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) and, after 2005, appears to be unavailable to the public.
