The
amazing heart
Hearts are amazing. They pump millions of gallons of blood
around our bodies throughout our lives, without stopping for a rest.
But what would happen if
you were born with a heart that didn’t work properly?
We want to find babies with broken
hearts before it is too late, so that they get the best care &
treatment - even before they are born.
What you can do:
1. Find out about hearts & design your own heart poster to
show a
heart problem.
There are some suggestions on the
right (in "Exploring the heart") and our web site will help you.
2. Find out how we can detect heart problems using high
frequency sound - known as "medical ultrasound". What was
ultrasound originally used for?
3. Create a heart badge so that you can tell people about
babies with heart problems.
